Chocolate

I'm not even very fond of peanut M & M's. However, I still managed to snarf half a package. Indigestion reigns (too much sugar).

Tomorrow will be another "I vow to eat NO sugar today" day. We'll see how I do.

I do miss my exercise.

Exercise

Since I'm not allowed to do my regular treadmill or outdoor walking with this stupid stress fracture I'm frustrated. What to do? The dr. said I should ask for a stationary bike for a New Year's Gift. Haven't ever asked for a New Year's Gift before. Wonder what would happen if I did?

Burn

Seeing the podiatrist tomorrow - counting on her giving me the "all clear". Going to have a ceremony to burn this blasted boot. (I sound a bit bitter, don't I?)

Wii

Wishing I could transfer my Wii bowling prowess to the regular bowling alley.

End of Christmas Day

The kids came, we all had gifts, ate a lot. I so loved having everyone come.

And now, I'm grateful for my vacuum cleaner.

Christmas

Been ready for Christmas for awhile. Now I feel like a kid again, just waiting, waiting and waiting for the magical day.

Ward Christmas Programs

Ward Sunday Christmas programs are lovely, and even more so when you're enjoying a break from playing the piano for the choir - after like 40 years of that.

Men and Women

Men want to figure out how things work. Women just want things to work.

Tears

Heard this quote today that I really like, by Washington Irving:

“There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are messengers of overwhelming grief...and unspeakable love.”

Solar Power

Yay!!! Rocky Mtn. Power was out today - swapped out the meter, passed us on the inspection and we actually flipped the switch.

Now, to iron out the little bugs and this is one project we can call complete. Thanks, My Love, You're absolutely amazing.

Food, Again

Lunch out with friends, then dinner at Quilt Group. Pretty soon my legs won't hold up this body that's more bowling ball shaped every meal.

Tragedy

Got word this morning that my sister's house burned to the ground. She is left with absolutely nothing. We have got to find a way to help her somehow. Life is just hard.

Mary Poppins

This movie never gets old, I love it. However, I'd still like to be able to acquire her carpetbag (including it's abilities) and the power of her "finger snap". Where can I get them?

Food

Sweets, sweets and more sweets. You'd think I'd be a really wonderful person, I guess you could say "sweet" person, with all the goodies I'm eating. Apparently it doesn't work that way.

Thank Goodness It's Friday

Liking a few things that happened today:

1. The electrician actually showed up when he said he would.

2. He accomplished what he needed to.

3. The Draper City inspector came / inspected / approved. All's good.

4. I was able to pick up my glasses. They aren't munged up, they fit (mostly) and I didn't yell at anyone.

5. It's 7 p.m. I'm home to stay, have my jammies and robe on, I'm comfy, warm and relaxed. Again, all is good.

This Is The Day...

When I wonder what it'd be like to act like a two year old: roll on the floor, kicking, screaming, pounding fists and having a good old-fashioned-full-blown-temper tantrum.

Toes

Toe warmers stuck to the top and bottom of those exposed toes made the cold a bit more bearable today. Thinking I might need to find a whole box of them and stock up.

Costco

I'm fairly certain that my circuit of Costco - gimp foot and all - took me about 10 miles. Somehow I don't think hefting a 25 lb bag of ice melt into the cart and then into the car comes under the heading of "taking it easy".

On Mothering

It's really hard to stop "being a Mom" - doesn't matter what the age of your children. Once a Mom, always a Mom.

Adventure

From one of the grandchilluns: "I'm always up for an adventure!"

I'm with him! (At least I think I am....most of the time....)

Party

Heading off to the Ward Christmas Party. Wondering if any of the smaller attendees will have a volume/mute/slow/stop control button.

Electricians

It's good that someone wants to do the electrical stuff. Too bad they're expensive.

Blood Pressure

Thinking about my visit to the podiatrist the other day. Thinking it was probably a good thing they took my blood pressure early on and not after I'd waited 50 minutes in the exam room for the dr.

Cars

I'm thinking that we shouldn't be such good friends of our local car repair shop.

(But in some ways, we're glad we are - we can pretty much count on them to do a good job. Hopefully the Kia will be feeling happy for awhile.)

Thanks, My Love, for the chocolate/chocolate doughnut pick-me-up-afternoon-date. Everything's better when you're with me.

Stress Fracture?

I know that I can get a little wigged out sometimes from stress, but how did that cause a fracture in my foot?

And I'm still trying to figure out (after that crack about my losing weight) if the nurse insults patients indiscriminately, if I was the specific target, or if she's just (young, ditzy) clueless.
