Morning Bike Ride

So I was riding along, enjoying the solitude and peace of the early morning, rounded the corner and there in my path was a ginormous road sweeper taking up the entire width of the trail. No choice but to turn around. Then it was certain: it's Monday!

Change

One of the few certainties of life is that there will be change. And even when you know it's coming, it isn't always welcome or easy.

I hope to be able to greet whatever comes our way now with excitement and grace. I'll be sure to let you know how that works out.

Building

Last time for the (nearly nonexistent) Branch's assignment to clean the building. No meetings in the building last Sunday made for a quick clean. Good thing: there were only 3 of us there.

Quote From Book

I read this sentence in a book today: "My heart was as threadbare as the tires on my car." Fits my mood for the day perfectly.

Change and News

What fun to receive a postcard from our 7 year old granddaughter who is vacationing in Hawaii. We'll have to start calling our son the tomato (She said that's what he looks like. Should have used sunblock.)

The Hubby was officially released from the Singles Branch last night. It will be so fabulous to have him back in Church with me. I've missed you, My Love.

Today's Question

So, I'm wondering: Is chocolate a good thing from Heavenly Father? Or is it just a bad temptation?

Is It Evening Already?

This Monday just flew by. Filled it with good things: bike rides, sewing, grocery shopping, bike repairs & visits with a friend. Feels good to be tired from doing good things.

Temple Dedication

So lovely to be able to attend the Oquirrh Mt. Temple Dedication today. By our count, we've managed (through the blessing of technology) to attend the dedication of 4 Temples (Draper, Jordan River, Nauvoo and Oquirrh Mt.). How fortunate we are.

Car

I was a tad bit grumpy about spending the time washing and waxing my car today. But it does look so much better, and it was fun working (in the shade) with The Hubby for a bit. We work well together.

Paradise Bakery sandwich and a Jamba Juice. My tastebuds were jumping up and down saying, "Yippee!, Yippee!, Yippee!"

Friday Night Fun

Thanks, My Love, for the way you always keep our yard looking so nice.

Pie and a visit with our daughter-in-law capped the week off nicely!

Productive Day

Got so much done today: cut out the Christmas gifts I'm sewing, 6 of them, ironed, rode my bike to the store and V. T. But it made me super hot! Had to turn on the air even though it wasn't that hot out today.

Still love that cruiser bike of mine, makes summertime much more appealing.

Computers

I was dragged, kicking, screaming and yelling into the computer world. Now I can't get by without my computer. But like good things often do, it makes me nutty!!

Dinner

I've talked lately about feeling old. Feeling a bit different after going to dinner with some friends of ours: they're 13 years older than we are. Now I'm feeling quite spry!

BTW: The Hubby likes the chairs!

Chairs

Did something unusual for me: bought a couple of chairs. By myself. Don't usually like to do this kind of thing without input from The Hubby. Thanks, My Love, for your confidence.

Now, when they're delivered tomorrow, will he be ok with them?

Age

I always want to look as young as I feel, as my brain thinks I am. Not as old as I appear when I look in the mirror. (Who is that, anyway?)

Good / Not So Good

Going to the Temple with a friend: Good.

Washing my Temple Recommend: Not so good.

Finishing the square for Quilt Group: Good.

Having to unpick several seams: Not so good.

Getting a hug from The Hubby: Good.

More Good than Not so Good: Great

Piano

My beautiful piano sings so much more sweetly when it is in tune. Money well spent.

Errands

Feels great to get a bunch of errands done. They're like bunnies: multiply rapidly.

Today's adventure

My Hubby sliced his finger, needed stitches. It took trips to three different Insta-Care places before we finally managed to get the attention he needed. A frustrating experience when I just wanted someone to help us!

But for Him, the final insult was a tetanus shot that really hurt! (He's not big on needles.)

Flab

Ok, so I haven't gained or lost any weight, so where has all this flab come from? You'd think I was an old woman.

Feet

I'd like to posit that we don't give our feet much consideration. They are under-valued and under-appreciated. That is until we get blisters and end up limping everywhere till the healing is completed.

Yesterday

Had a bunch of errands to run, decided to just stay at home instead: pure heaven.

My Guy had a hankering for Five Guys for dinner: wonderful! He even enjoyed a few fries.

Quiet evening together at home: Continuation of pure heaven.

Dinner

Grilled shrimp on a skewer, fresh corn on the cob, followed by dental floss - great meal!

Feet

I sure hate those painful blisters. Right now I have blisters on 3 toes and 2 foot edges. Ow!

Fast Sunday

Ate too much at the Break-The-Fast. What's new about that?

The house is very quiet. We miss the family now that they've gone home.

Aaahhh!

The carpets have been vacuumed, the tile floors scrubbed, the bathrooms cleaned, laundry nearly done and the toilet repaired. I can just hear the house saying,"Aaahhh, that feels so good."
