Life Is Better

Beautiful trees, early this a.m.
Life is better now that The Husband is home.  I'm so grateful for his work ethic and the way he takes such good care of us.  But...I'm not so great when he's gone.  My heart is happier with him near.

Love the lilacs!
The weekend was full of yard work, conference, a movie, more conference, a bit of rain and a nice little walk to chat with friends.  And now we're onto another week.  The Husband is taking today off to catch up on all the yard stuff.  Catching up might be a bit ambitious, but he's making a good effort. His list has several check-marks of stuff he's already accomplished.  And we managed to even go to lunch.

So pretty!
I so love Spring.  The trees and shrubs have been so beautiful this year.  Early blooming for sure, but all the more beautiful because of their unexpectedness in March rather than April and May. I had to stop and smell the lilacs on my morning walk.  My nose led me straight to the blooms for a deep deep intake of their fresh scent.

Our granddaughter returned from her mission on Friday.  From the pictures we were able to see, it looked like heart happiness all around.  Well done.

And the movie we saw the other day?  The Zookeeper's Wife.  The critics are mostly liking it but do have some sticking points they are careful to point out. I've learned to not give too much weight to the critics.  I personally thought it was good.  I remember plowing through the book when it was first published - liking the story but the writing not so much.  The movie was involving, and I would highly recommend it, in spite of the critics point of view.  Thank heavens we don't have to all agree.
Wow!  Tidy-est ever!

And this picture of socks?  The Husband showed me his sock drawer.  I don't think I've ever seen it so tidy.  What a lovely sight - had to take a picture to remember the occasion.  :)

Good motto
Today I'm so grateful.  For conference and the uplifting words of hope and encouragement I heard.  I hope to remember them.  I came away a bit uncomfortable with my attitudes, I'm not always as kind and Christian as I ought to be.  It's good to hear things that make me strive to be better.  I'm so grateful for spring flowers.  For the time to do yard work.  For lunch out.  For chocolate chip cookies. For a furnace to keep us warm when the spring does it's usual temperamental temperature twitches. And I'm ever grateful for those who share their love.
