Another Weekend Gone

How does time go so fast? This is a short list of thoughts/occurrences over the last couple days.

We worked in the yard.

Cleaned the church again.  Though this first full week of summer was nice - there weren't any weekday building activities so the church had stayed mostly clean since the deep Monday cleaning. YAY for me, I only had to vacuum one hall.

Still getting some bids for the cottonwood tree(s) removal.  (The more time passes, the more my mind adjusts to spending that amount of money, even though it feels like it's something that returns little value for the $$ spent.)

We tried to see a movie - but discovered it'd been cancelled. The assumption is that no one bought tickets so they cancelled it.  So I pre-purchased tickets for tonight's show and we'll hope we actually get to see the movie.

Was lucky enough to receive a hug from a sweet special friend at church.

They passed out ginormous (and messy) frosted cinnamon rolls for the fathers at church yesterday.

I think those oven-ready lasagne noodles are one of the best inventions ever. I don't mind the lasagne making quite so much.

The Husband still likes chocolate cake with coconut-pecan frosting and my new-ish (had it only a couple years) saucepan made even that experience more enjoyable.  I thoroughly enjoy having a quality pan.

The bat - don't know if it's the same one or a different one - is back on our back patio.  We'll try the light "therapy/deterrent" again and hope it's successful.

I'm grateful today for life.  For lovely rose bushes that yield a fresh cut blossom for The Husband's jacket for church on his Father's Day/Birthday.  I'm grateful for kind people who remember to wish him happy birthday. I'm grateful for cooler weather and storms that stay a bit north of us.  I'm grateful for an Amazon gift card that will get me some luxury that I wouldn't otherwise get. I'm grateful for books from the library. I'm grateful for texted pictures. And for kindness.
