Then we walked around what is currently the world's largest Costco - here in Salt Lake City. It was almost overwhelming all the stuff there was there. I told The Husband if there was a zombie apocalypse I wanted to be locked inside a Costco. :^) Just kidding.
Dinner was at The Tuscany. We've only been there one other time, with our friends who also have a September anniversary. I remember it as being super pricey. Didn't feel quite like that last night, though it wasn't as cheap as Chick-Fil-A. The food was scrumptious, we ate out on the patio under the trees, it wasn't too hot or too cold or too windy, so it was just a fun dinner out. Afterward we laughed at how we're such old people we couldn't think of anywhere we'd rather be than home, so we were home and in our jammies at 7:30. And that was perfect for me.

So last Friday was The Husband's last day of employment. He's done working for a paycheck. We spent Monday working out a few things - still fighting with Social Security over Medicare and Medicare Part B coverage. I haven't yet received my new card showing coverage so we can then get the supplemental insurance. But I think it should arrive tomorrow. At least I'm hoping for that. We're w-a-y too familiar with our local Social Security office.
I think it's going to take some time for us both to feel comfortable in the new normal. I still fuss over the financials, but have to practice walking by faith, I guess.

Along the way these last 10 days or so: was invited over to a friend's house, she insisted I pick some peaches, a couple asian pears, and apples from her trees. Also sent me home with a homemade cookie. It's all tasted yummy. I've sprouted a quite ugly cold sore (it seems to stretch from the edge of my lip down to my neck) that is taking forever to heal. Haven't had one of those in decades. I taught R.S. again (they made me a regular permanent teacher instead of just a permanent substitute). We're invited to the neighbors for what's become sort of a regular-once-a-month-Sunday-evening-shave ice-get-together. Though this time it's early and for sandwiches so people can go to New Beginnings afterward. I so love the hosts of this, she is such a disciple of the Savior. Also we went to the Symphony and had a lovely time. Walked through Temple Square after and ended up gazing at the Christus statue in the brightly lit visitors center from across the lawn. And were the only people there on that part of the square for that few minutes. I had the most amazing sense of gratitude wash over me while we were standing there. Gratitude for the Savior and his atonement. I hope to remember that feeling for a long time.
And I've a couple pictures here: I'm still loving the way those grapes are looking draped over that fence. The shoes? The Husband had a guy here giving us a bid on some work and he thoughtfully left his shoes by the front door, I didn't even know he'd done that until I went out to get the mail. I left out the picture of one of our growing pumpkins, it didn't do the size justice.
I'm so grateful that The Husband found me all those years ago. It's been a lifetime of adventure. And I wouldn't trade any of it. I understand I have to go through the troublesome times in order to fully recognize the joy. And I truly think there's been more joy than troubles. Yes, it's been a wonderful marriage. Thanks, My Love.
