And what a lovely day it's been. Just cool enough for a sweater. My walk during the sunrise this morning was just wonderful. I know I'll be complaining of the heat in a few months, but today: practically perfect.

Pretty Crocus
Spring usually means flowers. We saw bunches of blooming crocus yesterday afternoon on our quick walk. I think I should get some to plant for next spring. I love that early peek at spring's beauty. And not only are there crocus outside, inside I've got some orchids just popping open. I so love flowers!

Treat Tower
Last week we attended a dinner meeting Kevin-the-financial-guy invited us to. His assistant said it was sort of their "report card", something they do periodically and since there was an opening they invited us. It was so interesting. I'm not really great in social situations, was so glad I was there with The Husband and sitting next to Kevin-the-financial-guy. At one point I leaned over and asked if we weren't the very oldest-by-a-mile there in the group. (12 people: 5 couples, Kevin and his assistant.) It surely felt like it. And I was completely out of my comfort area, it was clear we aren't remotely in the same financial stratosphere as the other couples. In spite of the fact that The Husband was the only mostly brown-haired vs. totally white-haired man there (as usual, I was the only woman (not judging here at all, I just always notice women's hair color) with non-chemically enhanced colored hair) it felt like we were the oldest. Even when Kevin-the-financial-guy said we were smack in the middle age-wise, it didn't feel like it. The treat tower we brought home was a lovely extra that we're still noshing on.

One of my Orchid plants.
Years ago, at first publication, I read the book: Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society - and remember quite liking it. It was even a choice for our book group to read and discuss. Since, once again, there wasn't any movie playing in the theaters that we were willing to spend money on, we decided on Saturday afternoon to watch something on Amazon Prime (that movie was pretty bad, something from the 1980's) and Netflix. The movie adaptation of the previously mentioned book was wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed it. And also the hot buttered popcorn that I've had a craving for. What fun it was. And we didn't even have to go anywhere. (Though we're keeping an eye on our data usage from Xfinity now that we no longer have cable tv.) Our recliners are w-a-y more comfy than the movie theater seats.
In a bit, I'll wander with The Husband over to the church to help clean. Even though I generally do a walk-through our chapel after Sacrament meeting, there's still bathrooms to clean and vacuuming to be done and The Husband was gracious enough to take a break from our volunteering to clean. So I'm good to go help today. I'll have to figure out something quick for dinner when we get home.
Today I'm so grateful for the sunshine. My soul needed it. I'm grateful for a project that's been fun - hoping it turns out ok. I'm grateful for flowers that bloom. (We saw some buds on a lilac bush yesterday, can hardly wait to inhale their delicious scent.) For tote bags in the closet to transfer all my purse stuff to. I'm grateful for books to read, or not. Knowing that they're checked out from the library makes it super easy to set them aside if I'm not enjoying the reading. I'm grateful for clean bathrooms, steamed tile, vacuumed floors, and freshly cleaned laundry. Today's been a good day.
