A Few More Pictures

Love these orchid blooms.
So, I was a teensy bit grumpy about all the meetings for Stake Conference.  Turns out, The Husband attended a meeting he wasn't strictly-speaking invited to.  (Communication about meetings for this particular conference was less than stellar.)  The Saturday evening one was actually better than I'd expected, though we still hot-footed it out of there pretty quick at the end.  One of the complaints I voiced before we went was that there was never any way they would end these meetings early, I felt like there was some "rule" that all the meetings had to be exactly 2 hours long.

I had to eat my words. The Saturday evening meeting ended half an hour early and the Sunday morning meeting was about 20 minutes early.  One of those times I was actually happy to eat my words.
It's Spring!

The Husband was thinking we might go for a walk yesterday, I finally told him I realized he just wanted to be out in the sunshine. I wasn't anxious to join the hordes of people on the trail (everyone wanted to be out in the lovely weather.) So we enjoyed the sun through the windows.  Wasn't quite the same.

More spring.
But, He ended up going with me for my morning walk - we had the trails basically to ourselves, the way I prefer it.  I love to be out and about, but like to ease into the day's people-interaction.  It was just the best way to start the day - walking with my favorite.  After a couple days of sunshine, it's impossible to miss all the signs of spring everywhere.  The willow trees are greening, the buds are opening their faces to the sky and even the unfertilized lawns are happier. (The Husband is thinking he'll be mowing this week, around the leftover logs from the not-quite-finished tree removal.)

I was on a social media site yesterday.  Reading posts that I've decided I shouldn't read. Some people use the site as their "journaling" (saying stuff I (personally, and that's just my own opinion) would be quite reluctant to say to the general public).  I'm always so impressed by how articulate and witty and fun-to-read they are.  Less so that they can't spell.  :^)  I'm a big fan of good spelling / word usage.  (Am not quite so interested in politics or criticisms.  But there again, that's just my personal perspective.  I am a big fan of personal choice / opinion.  Just hope for those whose opinions / choices are different can let differences go without demanding agreement.  That seems to be challenging. And yes, here I am voicing my thoughts.  Not really pushing anyone else to do as I say, just promoting civility and kindness. )

Was wished this last week, and it has remained in my mind:  "I hope you live in the music of the moment."  There truly is music in lots of life's apparently mundane.  I've been mentally seeking some music.   I also heard this phrase yesterday (in the context of a personal story):  "Don't ever run toward danger."  And while that isn't a blanket statement that applies to every single situation one might face, it's good advice as we attempt to thwart the influences of the adversary.  I liked that philosophy.

I'm grateful for the hope that spring always brings. And for gifts of chocolate kisses.  Every meal should include chocolate.
