Father's Day

I haven't been very successful at making this a fabulous day for The Husband.  He is in playing the play station and seems to be enjoying his time.  But that feels like a small thing, and he can do that anytime he wants to.

I read an article the other day about how people are coping with the high gas and high food prices.  Was brought up short by some of the comments.  Several people said they were only able to afford to eat one meal a day.  One person said she was unable to drive the 30 miles to visit her newly widowed mother because of the price of gas.

There were more comments - all of which brought me up short.  I am constantly anxious and worried about whether or not we'll run out of money.  But: our cupboards have never been bare.  Nor have we had to limit ourselves to only one meal a day.

My heart is hurting at the state of things in the world that there is so much food insecurity.
