Decided to sit down and write some of my thoughts and couldn't believe that the last time I wrote in this "journal" was nearly a week ago. It's been a strange week. Like they all are these days. Is this craziness (dangvirus) ever going to end?
We walked most every morning. I've been surprised at the amount of things we see on the road as we walk along. Pennies, dimes, keys among them. There's a hook next to a driveway (like you hang planters or hummingbird feeders from) that we noticed back when we werewearing jackets to walk so it's been some months that had some keys hanging from it. We figured someone dropped their keys and someone else picked them up and hung them there in case the owner came looking. Those keys are still hanging from the hook. Wonder what they've not been able to unlock all this time or if it was troublesome at all to not have those keys.

| Lots of tomatoes. |
We visited the dermatologist. The Husband's leaky thumb knuckle-joint needed another look. The doctor left it up to The Husband whether to treat it or not. The prognosis was "maybe it'll help, maybe not". Since it didn't fully work last time, it seems less likely. So The Husband opted to not have it zapped again. He can always go back. But he did have some spots on his forehead / temple attended to. I think tomorrow they'll look better than today, he's a fairly quick healer.

The garden is doing fine. I'm crossing my fingers for the watermelon and cantaloupe. It'd be just superb if we could get them to maturity, harvest and then eating. It'd be a first for us. The tomatoes have improved as the season has progressed. The other day we had a whole flock of magpies in the backyard, pretty soon they ended up at the garden where they were digging into the tomatoes. The Husband stopped that in a hurry. He's fighting with a hummingbird that he thinks is nasty and controlling. I keep telling him he can't change the hummers nature. But he's sure giving it a go. We've lots around this year, more than last year - sometimes close to a dozen or so flitting around out there.

The water softener will be replaced this week (Yay and I'm so nervous - hope it goes well and that there's no troubles in the process) as well as the shower grout final fix. It's so great to have a few things done. One more small-ish project and I'm hoping we'll be done for now.
Church-at-church was good today. The sister missionaries spoke and I thoroughly enjoyed what each of them had to say. I'm still uncomfortable playing what amounts to three organ solos. I get so very nervous. But the Bishop wants all verses played and it's his call, so I do it. Today we posted the hymn numbers so people could follow along on their phones - the words really add the punch to the music. I hope it means something to people.

| lots of steps on Thurs. |
So, I'm sitting here fuming!! DANGDANGDANG whoever it is that runs Blogspot - likely culprit is Google. They changed everything. Some new format. Everything was working just fine as it was, but no longer does. I've sat here for far too long trying to insert my pictures like I've always done. And it doesn't work. I've had the resident computer expert trying to help and it's just a complete disaster. It's all mucked up and it's their fault. Just because you
can do something doesn't mean you should and in this case they should
not have.
I'm so grateful today that we've enough decent tomatoes to share with others. Some people are on their second round from us. What a blessing that is to us to be able to share. I'm grateful that it's August and that means almost the end of the full-on summer heat. I'm grateful that even though I'm out of library books again, tomorrow I'll be able to get at least one more. I'm so grateful that there's one person who makes me feel important, like I'm a priority. And a snowcone? Yes, we had one yesterday - it was fun and I'm glad that we got to go. Even better: we had a table under an umbrella!
