The new water softener is in. 👏 It seemed to take forever, the water to the whole house was off for about 6 hours or so. And it felt like years. I acknowledged again and again how grateful I am for indoor plumbing, flushing toilets and hot water on demand. The leaky spigots have been fixed, the drain valve on the hot water heater replaced and while he worked on the tub diverter (where you lift the knob to shift the water to the shower instead of the tub) and said it was fixed, it is now leaking from the wall. We're waiting to hear from them as to when they'll be back to fix it. In the meantime, my morning shower with soft water (my hair is much happier) was just fabulous!! Well worth every penny.
I didn't wake up quite as early this morning. That meant that our walk outside was going to be amongst a lot of people. We aren't fond of that. So we opted to drive a ways to a trail suggested by a friend. It was gorgeous. Such stunning vistas. We didn't go quite as far as The Husband would have liked - he was loving this particular trail along the Bonneville shore line. It was getting a bit steep for me, the walking surface was rocky dirt (almost but not quite like scree) and I was afeared of twisting an ankle. I felt bad for cutting The Husband's fun a bit short. Anyway, it was a beautiful morning, it was fun to do a hike/walk somewhere we haven't been. I even saw a deer in a driveway on the drive home. We're still surprised at the number of tomatoes we're bringing in. We've offered them to neighbors and friends, but I think I mentioned that most of them already have their own tomato plants. I love fresh tomatoes, but am almost ready for a teensy break from them.
So grateful today for the water softener replacement.
