Beautiful

So I'm just going to write a little bit and then put in the pictures. It won't look professional or pretty because of the way that Google has messed things up. But whatever. At least I tried. We woke early yesterday morning as is our habit. It's nearly impossible for me to "sleep in". Decided to drive over to the Jordan River Trail to walk. It's an extremely busy trail, but we were hoping that as early as we were out, we'd mostly have the trail to ourselves. There's lots of land/wetland preserves. Lots of pampas grass and cattails and deer and innumerable kinds of birds. It's a lovely walk that doesn't feel like we're quite in an urban area. More nature embracing. And we love it. But we have to gird ourselves to deal with the hordes (at least it feels like hordes) of people who also love it. And it's a drive to get there, so we have to feel like we've the time, aren't feeling pressured. We walked for a long time. On our way home we treated ourselves to waffles at Waffle Love. The Husband went with the nutella (fruit and nutella and whipped cream) and I stuck with the breakfast sammy (egg, bacon, cheese, croissant (so a really light) waffle and hollandaise sauce). It felt quite decadent - but very fun. We kept snapping pictures with my phone, the sun was so lovely as it rose and just kissed the mountains w-a-y over on the west side of the valley. The clouds were amazing as they warned (with the wind) of the impending storm. YAY for a storm, we so need the water for our parched and thirsty area. In the evening it began to rain and I swear I could hear the trees and shrubs sighing in relief as they received their drink. I'm certain it was really the wind rushing through the leaves that have yet to fall. But I know in my heart that the plants are grateful for the moisture. This morning we woke to more rain, that soon turned to snow and has continued. We didn't manage our Sunday morning walk - I don't mind. I imagine after Zoom church and Zoom Relief Society there'll be a weather lull somewhere during the day when we can bundle up (it's not really that cold, just blowing snow)and head out for a bit of a walk. I'm so ready for this next season. I love that it's time for soup, and warm socks, and sweaters and fires in the fireplace and hot chocolate. That "nestling in" thing, the snuggling down just feels grand.
And I promise, I did put in paragraphs. Several of them. I know I"m kind of dumb, but like to think I'm smart enough to know to use paragraphs and punctuation. There's that google mess-things-up thing. Again.
