#GiveThanks

So, I read an article this morning, somewhat critical of President Nelson and his desire that we all be grateful - flooding social media with our gratitude.  I'm not a big fan of social media.  I only got on FaceBook to keep in touch with the kids, and they promptly mostly abandoned it.  I find it depressing, manipulative, and frankly, not good.  But that's just my opinion.

This has been my forum, my personal spot to record my thoughts for over 11 years. I don't expect anyone to read it, or comment or be involved in any way.  But almost since the beginning I've tried to find something to be grateful for each time I write.

It makes me sad to see the criticism of Pres. Nelson, those who are trying to be faithful and good and those who just want to live their best lives.

Today my gratitude is for our God-given right to choose.  To choose the good, the righteous as we see it,  kindness, consideration of others, selflessness, allowing others their choices without vocal expression of disagreement or contention.  In sum, the choice to be a disciple of Jesus Christ and do our individual best to become one.  That is my choice, my hope and my goal.
