Warning: I'm snarky

Were at the dermatologists the other day. Had to make our insurance co-pay.  Were required to do this on a tablet.

I bemoan the requirement that every single aspect of our life be online / digital / "computer-ized". I don't see the need for all those people at the front desk of the doctor's office if they aren't going to interact with people.  Isn't that part of going to the doctor in person - to see someone, talk to someone face-to-face?

Not everything in life should be online / digital.  Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should.  Or that it is more effective.

I sat in my chair and watched an old (well, older appearing than either of us) guy finally get someone's attention and have her sit with him and go step by step through the tablet to complete his info/payment.  It was sad to me that the only people interacting were those two - in a room full of people.  I have come to resent the fact that everything must be done online.  Even a somewhat (self-avowed) anti-social introvert like me needs connection with other humans.  Everyone does.  Which now that I think about it,  strikes me as an odd topic for me to choose since I'm sitting here "journaling" on my computer - absent interaction.  Sigh.  Everything's complicated.

I guess I just think there should be reason and rationality.  And being absolutely required to use technology every where we go isn't that.

Just went out to get the mail, stopped to look at our new little crabapple. Nearly shouted for joy:  there are teensy, tiny flower buds on it.  Seeing those, definitely helped to ease my snarky attitude.

I'm grateful for flower buds on new trees.  For people who still take time to notice you as a person.  And for being able to find lawnmower parts that have gone missing.
