Not COVID.
Not Flu.
Not RSV.
Just a plain old-fashioned cold virus. It's pretty much laid me flat. Finally went to the Insta-Care today. (The regular dr.'s office could only do a telehealth visit and I knew my ears and throat needed to be actually looked at.)
The corner of the counter in the kitchen looks like a mini-pharmacy. Hoping there'll be some improvement found with the taking of those pills/liquids.
If a migraine feels anything like the headache / earaches I've had I have deep sympathy for migraine sufferers.
I've long been frustrated at the slow flow of water from the dispenser on the refrigerator. We've replaced the filters on the reverse osmosis unit to no avail. I finally decided it was time to replace the ice/water filter in the fridge itself. (We haven't bothered with that filter replacement because the water comes straight from the reverse osmosis unit and we figure it's already pretty purified. Probably my mistake.) Of course, since it's a 20+ year old fridge, the parts have changed over time. But we found the replacements, they arrived yesterday and one was installed. And the fridge promptly started to leak. Sigh. We tried to stem the flow completely. No luck. The leaks dripped into tubs and buckets in the basement storage room all night long.
We successfully turned off all the water to the fridge. Yay! That means no good tasting water to drink or decent ice. Not yay. Soonest a repair person can get here is Jan. 6, two weeks away.
If we can repair the fridge for just a few hundred dollars instead of replacing it for several thousand, we're going to do that. I've been hearing stories about appliances not being available (the supply chain, chip shortage, etc.) Not sure I want to go that route. And besides, this fridge really works just fine if we can figure out the leak and repair it.
Almost time for a dose of stuff that will help open the passages, calm the cough and send me to sleep. I haven't had more than an hour's sleep at a time since Saturday night. Counting on improvement tonight. Less coughing will be a huge improvement.
