New-to-me Recipe

So I tried this pumpkin bar recipe.  I don't get much pumpkin around here, I'm the only one that really likes it.  And every year The Husband splurges on a pumpkin pie from Costco which I dearly love.  But one of their pies is like twice the size of normal pies and it's w-a-y too much for me to eat mostly by myself.

Mine, and his.
The crust is a typical graham crust with the addition of crushed pecans.  Pretty yummy. Topped with pumpkin it was/is quite tasty.  We walked some over to our friends' house so that I didn't feel compelled to eat the entire 9 x 13 pan of goodies by myself.

But I had to share the picture.  Mine was the larger piece of pumpkin bar with only the teensiest splot of whipped cream (ugh, don't like that stuff!).  The smaller bar piece with the generous dollop of cream?  That would be The Husband's.  He's a good sport about trying small pieces of pumpkin stuff, but really his first choice would be a plate of whipped cream (just teasing, of course, though he really does love cream in most forms!).

And a couple hours later got a text from our friend, requesting the recipe.  So, yes, maybe this one's a keeper to try again another time.

And I shared this article with some loved ones, I so liked what she had to say.

Gratitude

I'm a big fan of a grateful perspective at all times of the year not just in November.  And that contentment thing she mentions?  Also something I strive for.  I felt somehow validated by her words, like I'm not completely out there with my opinions.
