Spring In Utah

And that means you just never know what the weather is going to be like. Saturday was gorgeous, though windy (it was in the mid-eighties so a bit on the warm side for me).  Sunday - mostly the same though it started to cloud up later on.  This morning we woke to rain and more rain, snow/rain mix, then a short period of all snow.  Now it's sunshiny and pretty, though the clouds look set to come in again.

That meant I was on the treadmill this morning.  I missed being out for the sunrise (the sunrise that was invisible behind the clouds).

The window cleaners were scheduled for this morning.  Yup, re-scheduling.  It'll be nice to see out of clean windows again.

We spent most of Saturday getting "stuff" done. The Husband worked on removing the weeds around the growboxes, we're both anticipating some good veggies from our own garden this year.  Then it was mowing and cleaning up outside for The Husband while I vacuumed and cleaned bathrooms. Noticed for the first time (and that tree has been there for 17 years) our Norway spruce has teensy tiny pine cones that are pink!!  The amount of pollen that blows off that tree is incredible.

After a shared sandwich at Even Steven's we headed to Utah County to a place we'd heard was good:  Cook's Farm and Greenhouse.  Came away with some tomato and a couple other veggie starts, and a couple packets of seeds. Decided on the way home to stop at Kuwahara for geraniums.  (They aren't necessarily my favorite of annuals, but they seem to do the best in our front beds and were $1 apiece cheaper at Kuwahara than Cook's).  It's still a teensy risky to plant them outside in case it freezes.  So they're tucked up close to the house, in case we need to quickly bring them in from the cold.

It was a productive and fun day, though we were tired at the end. The Husband never complains but I know it's harder on him than it used to be to do such physical stuff for hours on end.

Fortunately I had splurged.  The grocery had Breyer's (our favorite) ice cream on sale: buy one/get one (love the free one, otherwise I'd not have bought any) so I had two containers of ice cream in the freezer, just waiting for us to reward ourselves after a long day.  Ice cream for dinner?  Bring it on!!

Yesterday was my last day for the organ for a couple months.  Was invited last minute to play for the 3rd hour combined meeting, so I skipped out of SundaySchool class a few minutes early to run through the song.  I want to avoid embarrassment if at all possible.

And today?  I've been cleaning up my sewing/computer room.  Want to do a bit of re-arranging.  Last fall we brought the recliner into this room so I'd have a comfy place to sit.  I love having a nice chair in here, but need to reduce the amount of stuff/furniture in here.  Then a bit of switching places and it'll be so cozy. Though I'm almost embarrassed at the amount of books (particularly children's picture books) that I own.

I'm so grateful for a snug, comfortable home; with a room for me to play in whenever I like, complete with tv for entertainment.  I'm grateful for the spring that brings such variety to life, even though it sometimes means having to decide between winter and summer clothing.  I'm grateful for being able to get stuff to garden with.  For the privilege of fasting and praying for answers that we hope will be clear.
