Week Two

It doesn't seem like I can very often look backward and say "that was a good week".  But actually this time I think I can.

We had some quiet days where I refilled my "social reservoirs" and some days that were busier.   We completed our first goal of the year (attended the temple, and I even took a family name).  And completed another thing we've been trying to do for a couple years (replace our aged, sagging mattress).

I got caught up on some reading and some stitching and even a teensy bit of cleaning. I've worked (mostly in my head) on the upcoming Relief Society lesson.

4:10 p.m. northeast of our house, in spite of bad air quality.
We treated ourselves to lunch at Olive Garden (their soup and salad is a favorite of mine and lunch is fairly inexpensive), a friday afternoon movie (A Dog's Way home, pretty decent) and a Saturday afternoon shake at Chick-fil-A - which we enjoyed with some waffle fries (love their Chick-fil-A sauce).  Shake and fries (sweet and salty):  fabulous!

I think it'll take some time to get used to a.) the early church schedule and b.) the shortened church schedule.  I'm enjoying our "Come Follow Me" study time, but it just feels a tad odd to be out of church and out of our church clothes by 11:30 a.m.

The early schedule means we have long lazy afternoons.  Even though the air quality is still borderline, we took advantage of the bit of sunshine we had and took a walk.  Walking outside with The Husband is such fun, though today we could have dressed a tad warmer, it felt much colder than it looked.

I'm grateful today for some quiet peaceful time.  I'm grateful for warm socks and comfy shoes.  I'm grateful to be debt free.  I'm grateful for this little spot where I can record my thoughts - have them down and done, don't have to cover them again in conversation with anyone. I'm grateful for a bit of chocolate in the cupboard.  And for people at church who not only greet me with warmth but take the time to chat for a minute like I actually matter.  :^)
