Another Thoughtul and Thought Provoking Article

Being Offended By Words  This article makes me want to have a discussion with some of my loved ones.  People think about things so differently from one another.  And often, aren't afraid to just bluntly state their opinion, knowing that in stating their opinion, they're really subtly trying to control the actions or views of another.  Anyway, it's a complicated issue in my mind.  But really, I guess the bottom line is, we should try to always be kind, regardless of whether it's someone we like, agree with or approve of.  I'm often on the receiving end of "instructions" and it causes me some frustration (and even discouragement).  I try to be kind in my responses, but it's sometimes a challenge.  Why do we always think we know better than someone else?

And today we're off to Eccles Theater to see "Wicked"!  I'm so excited.  This was our Christmas present to ourselves, and though we bought some of the cheapest tickets they had, it was still pricey enough that it feels like a huge luxury splurge.  I'm so grateful we can go.

It's been a strange week.  We've shoveled (what feels like a ton) snow, felt a few earthquakes, run a few errands, accomplished some things we needed doing.  We still have some things to accomplish though I think we're both mostly prepared for the classes we'll be teaching on Sunday at church.  I've been to yoga twice (once with a teacher that I've not had before and I really liked her) and am feeling like two times a week is a good balance, especially when they're not two days in a row.  I haven't walked as much as I'd like, though I have managed to get out in the sunrise a couple times.

Usually there's lots more geese here.
I took this picture through the car window (do you like the rearview mirror in the pic?) of the geese.  This field is often replete with geese, today there were quite a few that were up close to the road, though they waddled off pretty quickly when we slowed down to see them.

We've dinner tomorrow with some friends, a movie to watch tonight (our next-to-last symphony tickets last weekend were for "My Fair Lady" in concert and it was so delightful we checked the movie out of the library for re-viewing).

And I know there've been other things I wanted to note here - my way of keeping track, journaling. But of course, they've all flown the way of other lost memories.

I'm grateful for the luxury of our tickets to a play today, for warm clothes to wear, for good snow shovels.  I'm grateful for the hope of things to come - dinner that I don't have to cook,  a beach trip, some good books to read and maybe even a summer drive south along the 101 (from Seattle to CA) - we've been talking about it for a while, this might actually be the year to do it, if we can swing the financials. I'm grateful for the month of March off of teaching R.S. - a little break will be good for my nerves. I'm grateful for a bit of sunshine and for gift cards to restaurants.
