Beautiful Start To A New Week

Last Wednesday's sunrise.
I actually made it out on the trail this morning. It was 47 degrees, just right for a sweatshirt, and not so many people out on the trail so I mostly had it to myself (which is the way I like it).  It's still (and apparently always) the way I love to start my day.

Almost lilacs!
We've been solving a few issues.  The Husband's new computer isn't - so far - compatible with his aging (but still working fabulously and much loved) 30" monitor.  He's spent a fair amount of time researching solutions, even ordered a part, but nothing has worked.  Sigh...

We ran a few errands together, some of them his errands and some of them mine and it's such a delight to be able to just pick up and go together whenever the fancy strikes.  I will never tire of that part of this new section on our life's journey.

The music at the symphony on Friday evening was just lovely, I was riveted in my seat, even to the point of closing my eyes for nearly one entire song, just absorbing the notes.  Ending our date with a drive home under the watchful eye of the bright full moon was just:  yeah.

And I've taken a few pictures.  More than I'll post here because I'm not near the photographer that I'd like to be, but some of the things I see just reach out and grab my heart; we live in a beautiful world. (I had to take the picture of the robin in the tree with the moon behind.  It was singing good morning to me and farewell to the moon.)
Even snakes like the sun.

My duck friend.
Last night we were invited to celebrate the 13th birthday of our sweet granddaughter. My soul is fed when those I love so much seem to reciprocate and let us know of their affection.  I didn't have much of that growing up. This new teenager had baked her own cake and it was a work of art, three layers of moist vanilla cake with vanilla icing and fresh sliced strawberries between the layers and then topped and decorated all around with more fresh strawberries.  It was pretty and pretty tasty.  I learned that if I'm going to play croquet, I'd do better on smoother, shorter grass and need to practice my croquet-ball whacking beforehand.  I was a pitiful player. But it was fun nonetheless.

This mornings lovely view.
Good morning robin.
I've been immersed in my upcoming R.S. lesson.  Frustrated and annoyed at my lack of inspiration on how to approach.  Have been so grateful for the online support of those other R.S. teachers who are all so very anxious to do their own personal best at teaching and don't hesitate to share what they've done, what has worked for them.  Every time I visit one of their websites I'm so impressed at the dedication I find.

And I've been working on the stretches my physical therapist friend recommended (along with re-discovering my heating pad and prescription strength doses of ibuprofen) for my aching, stiff neck.  It's been a problem for several weeks and I'm hoping that this week will be the turning point toward full recovery.  I dislike protesting muscles and chronic pain.

I'm grateful today for The Husband and his seemingly endless supply of concern for me.  I'm grateful for the focus at church yesterday on Easter and the resurrection of our Savior.  I'd be hard-pressed to express the importance of that event to me, I don't possess the right words or the ability to string them together.  I'm grateful for help with my R.S. lesson, I get so filled with anxiety about pleasing Heavenly Father when I'm responsible for an hour of the ward's sister's time. I'm grateful for sunshine and the blooms of spring!
