I Must Be Obsessed With Taking Pictures

I wish someone would explain to me what's up with people and change.  Money change, not situation change.

Love the willows.
Last night, my purchase came to $8.97.  I gave her the bill and 2 pennies so I'd have a single larger coin instead of lots of smaller ones.  She entered the amount of money I gave her into the register (so she'd know how much change to give me, heaven knows, it feels like basic arithmetic is almost non-existent right now).   What did she give me back?  5 pennies.  I asked her if she didn't have any nickels and she said yes, sure.  I told her the reason I gave her the pennies was so I could have a nickel back and she said, "Oh, I didn't know."  Seriously?  Who thinks it's fine to return 5 pennies instead of a nickel? Especially when I'd given her two pennies already.  Why would I want 3 more pennies back?  I'm still befuddled by this one.

So pretty.
Wednesday's morning walk was perfect.  I only saw one person on the trail, very early in the walk.  Yesterday was yoga.  Was a bit later than usual leaving the house to walk this morning.  I'm pledging to get out there earlier.  I was dodging people all over the place.  I'm so glad they enjoy walking and chatting.  Too bad they seem to be hard of hearing.  I'm pretty sure The Husband could have recorded their conversation from home - over a mile away.  :^]  I liked the walk on Wednesday morning better - much prefer that everyone understands the trail is mine until I'm done with my walk, then they can have the trail the entire rest of the day.  (Yes, just kidding here.  Except for the fact that I enjoy it better when the trail is less busy.)

But I'm loving the signs of spring.  This was just one small example of how green the willow trees are.  With all the rain we've had (and such water hogs the willows are), I'm not surprised at how pretty they are looking.  And the blooming trees?  Just so pretty!   And speaking of blooms, my other orchid stem also decided to open up and say hi.  I just love flowers.

More pretty.
The Husband is such a blessing to me.  There's been a foul smell coming out of my sink.  Dosed the drain with Drano twice with no lessening of the stench. Did a little poking around the internet and diagnosed the problem as a blockage of the overflow drain.  So, The Husband put aside everything he was doing and took the stopper out of the sink, used some wire and lots of elbow grease and voila!  (Actually it was pretty gross to see all the gunk he managed to dislodge.)  Clean sink drain.  Clean overflow drain. And even all the stuff in the cupboard under the sink has been tidied up.  I like clean.

I'm so grateful to be married to someone who isn't afraid to get dirty, who likes to solve problems. I'm grateful for morning walks when the sky is an everchanging color palette. I'm grateful for a fun project to work on.  Although work is a bit of a misnomer, it's been such fun, I've had to force my hands to put it down while I do the other important household stuff.  And I'm grateful for a fun new dessert recipe to try tomorrow.  It's chocolate so it's bound to be a keeper.
