We've accomplished a few things and have received bids on a couple things that we're trying to figure out what to do. The driveway, patio and garage floor have got to be sealed / protected. We struggled to keep our jaws off the floor when we received the estimate. Now have to decide how much, how fancy we will be able to do. Anything will be cheaper than tearing out and replacing, which is absolutely not a possibility. What to do...

| The Failure. |
First off, the pan was too small. Never mind it's the pan I used last time. Barely kept it from bubbling over. The gas stove meant that when I turned down the heat it was nearly instantaneous. But then it meant that the fudge mixture didn't get quite to the proper temperature (which is another complication with our 4,000 foot elevation). But it looked right so into the square pan to cool it went.
Next morning I tried to cut it. And no. Not happening. Totally soft, not set. What to do. I needed to run to yoga (It is so good for me to be back at it!! Tuesday's class was a struggle, but I felt so much better the next day, I was determined to keep at it.) and there wasn't time between yoga and lunch with the ladies to make fudge.
Thanks to the "internet of all information" it seemed like I could salvage the fudge. So, abandoning my need to yoga, I decided to give it a go.
YAY! I managed to end up with some fairly decent fudge. And wow, did I learn some things. My recipe is covered with notes to ensure success on future attempts. And my tongue has been doing its "happy-I-love-the-way-that-tastes-dance". Those I've given some fudge to seem to think it tastes ok so it is all good. (And there's not enough left of the "success" fudge to show with a picture.)
We've some movie possibilities for the weekend, some gardening tasks, and a car to wash and wax so the weekend will be fine. I like having stuff to do.
I was touched by this article - such a good reminder that everyone has something to accomplish in this life, avoiding comparison and expectations is always good.
Sweet Experience, Much learned
I'm so grateful that I stuck with it and conquered the fudge! I'm grateful for the ability to maintain our home. I'm grateful that our nights are cool enough to leave the air conditioner off, even though I sleep better with the windows closed blocking the cricket noises, I like saving that money. I'm grateful for something to look forward to and for being able to go back to yoga. I still don't necessarily love that actual practice, but I do love the way I feel after. And am grateful for The Husband's encouragement there, he's always good to support me in whatever I do without judging.
