I'm Older Now

Pretty Rainbow
Last week is kind of a blur in my head.  I remember feeling a bit busy but don't remember what made it busy.

Chocolate
My birthday was really nice.  That morning The Husband asked me what my birthday wish would be.  Something I hadn't thought about. My first instant thought was to have no drama.   My wish came true!!  We spent most of the day at home.  That is, after The Husband went with me on my walk.  We saw a pretty rainbow and got soaked in the rain. (I thought rainbows came after the rain?)  But we were together and hadn't any commitments (where I needed to look good) during the day so it was fun.  I received so many food gifts I wondered if I'd have room for dinner - some of those had to be eaten pretty quick:  some Breyer's gelato, a cupcake from Sweet Tooth Fairy, a cakelet from Nothing Bundt cakes, a fresh warm Crumbl cookie.  People were so kind.  Mostly I felt cared for and like I didn't deserve all the attention.  (And I truly do dislike any kind of fuss.)  It was a low-stress, low-expectation, low-key day:  just right.

New nightlight
The Husband (with our daughter and grandson's help) acquired 8 bags of these candies that I just love.  It's a good thing those bags are on the smaller side, it'd be easy to mindlessly finish one in a sitting.  I really love that all of these gifts are not over-the-top ridiculously expensive, every one was thoughtful in every way, including the new article of clothing I received for when I go to the temple.

This morning I got to wear my new shoes - they are wonderful.  No blisters, no discomfort, just fun walking.

Between dinner out two nights in a row and a third night where I didn't have to cook at home, it was a great food weekend.
The best peach gift

Fabulous new shoes.
I'm so grateful this morning that I've managed another year.  That I haven't completely succumbed to those faults and quirks that cause me issues.  That I haven't given up on resisting the influences of the adversary (that's a constant process).  I'm so grateful to have been able to go to the temple with our grandson for his first time.  It was a privilege to be there.  I'm grateful for new shoes, for a good stash of treats I hope I can make last longer than a week (I know I'll be able to, I'm pretty good at portioning things out). And I'm so grateful for the kindness of people.
