It snowed all day yesterday. Little accumulation - but still - wet stuff coming from the heavens.
Got in the car to go to the dentist. Was surprised at how cold my tush felt. Headed down the slight incline from the driveway to the street and got a head full of cold water. Yup. The moonroof has been open about three inches. Since Thursday. Through the snow. And the cold (it was 17 degrees this morning when I left for my walk). My cupholders have half an inch of ice in them, still.
My tush wasn't just cold - it was wet. So was the passenger seat. So was my hair.
Off to the dentist for the permanent crown replacement. Managed to do it without numbing my mouth, but my tooth / jaw aches from the cold whatever-it-was-they-used to prep the tooth for the new crown.
Headed out to my still wet-on-the-inside car to come home. Buckled my seatbelt, as is our always-habit and started out of the parking lot. Ding Ding Ding Ding. Must have been some water or ice still in the buckle. My car doesn't just remind me in a delicate way that my seatbelt isn't buckled, the dinging gets progressively louder and louder and never stops until the engine is off. Drove a few blocks before the sensor finally figured out I'd had my belt buckled the whole time. Annoying.
| Finally able to clean it! |
Until this morning.
| All clean and done! |
We've got the water softener, the water barrels, the freezer, the garbage cans and most important - the cars - all back in the garage. It's windy and cold and we've both decided to postpone the rest for now.
I'm so grateful to be able to come inside out of the wind to a warm house complete with washer and dryer. I'm grateful for a garage to park the cars in. I rarely forget to close my moonroof. I feel like an idiot. But I'm grateful that so far it doesn't appear that I've ruined the interior of the car. I'm grateful that the cupboard hinge came in a two-pack so we didn't have to drop everything and run back to Home Depot again. I'm grateful for a husband who isn't afraid to tackle handyman jobs and is a success at everything he tries. And I'm grateful to have finally found some strong enough glasses that I can stitch again on the small stuff.
