And really, where is this January weather coming from in October?
Halloween was fairly calm around here, I bought a small bag of candy, and had a third of it left at the end of the evening. I figure we had maybe 30 kids. I just can't get into Halloween. I've never liked the dark side; growing up I really disliked the costume part, and none of us need the sugar part. So I was glad things were low-key and there weren't too many kids with deep voices and tall bodies that came to the door. We still had some people driving their kids into our neighborhood (which I also don't get - but this is me, just my personal perspective) but there were far fewer of them.

I'm mentally fussing about Christmas. We have less $$ to spend this year. I've been saving up a bit but there's so much less income to save from. We've tried to be extremely thoughtful in our gifting over the years. And probably have spent more than we should have. So this year will be a bit of a change. I'll do my best. And there are some specific family members that I know will be grateful no matter what. Still, I always want to please. Sometimes that's a tad troublesome for me to do.
My car has dried out. We'll be spending some time tomorrow re-"stuffing" the garage. We've a birthday "do" to go to and a possible movie to see so it'll be a decent weekend.
I'm so grateful for enough warm clothing that I can get out in this abnormally-for-this-time-of-year cold. I'm grateful for good shoes that keep me walking. I'm grateful for kind women who made yesterday's lunch so pleasant. And I'm truly grateful for the end of Daylight Saving time. If I had my way they would do away with it completely. Forever.
