Saturday

I somehow think this will be our last "quiet" (i.e. unscheduled) Saturday for a while.  (We're both feeling a bit anxious about the new calling and its demands.) Tomorrow is our first training meeting.  Sundays also will likely be much different than our usual.

Guilty pleasure.
We were up a bit earlier - headed first thing to the basement to go through a couple more boxes.  We probably have a few more empty boxes now than we have full ones.  But that's just the storage room.  There are several filing cabinets and cupboards full throughout the house.  But, we're making progress.  We even managed to drop off a trunkful of "stuff" at our local donation center.
From a bridge.

Stopped in at the grocery up the hill (one we don't often shop) and came away with a couple little goodies.  We shouldn't have.  But we did.  And loved every bite.

Only a small fraction of the geese we saw and heard.
Grabbed some jackets, sunglasses and earmuffs, drove over to the Jordan River Parkway (a long trail that meanders along the river) and hit the pavement.  Set the timer for half an hour and neither one of us was ready to come back then.  Yesterday morning we woke to a blizzard.  It truly was hard to see across the street for the snow.  Today:  blue skies, dozens and dozens of geese flying overhead. I gave The Husband a running commentary of what the honks meant, the conversations I imagined were taking place between the geese.  He barely chuckled, though I considered myself quite hilarious. (I did read that the honking is a form of encouragement between the geese.  Though, who really knows?)

I missed walking yesterday, thoroughly enjoyed today's sunshine.  It not only warmed my face (in the midst of the stiff breeze) but my spirit.  Lovely.
