Social Distancing

Got up early Wednesday morning for the "senior" shopping hours at the grocery.  It was lovely to see the faces (and their smiles) of a couple people we know.  That human connection is so very important.
Wed. a.m. me and the ducks

hug in a card
When we got home I was determined to go for a walk even though it was raining (and I even got snowed on a little bit).  It was just me and the ducks out. But I loved it.  I had on boots to keep my feet dry, my rain jacket for dry head and gloves to keep my fingers warm.  It was great!

Then yesterday morning we woke to several inches of snow.  So I was in doing "Yoga with Adriene" and then the treadmill.  This morning I was determined to get out on the trail, even decided to do the "long" version of my walk.  Which took me by the high school and the retention pond that had a layer of ice in the 20 degree weather.  And again, it was just me and the ducks.  (There really is a duck in the middle of the ice.)

Received this cute hug in a card the other day.  How thoughtful.

Me and the ducks again.
Yesterday a.m.
I'm so grateful that people are still connected during this weirdness.  I've received a letter from a 4 year old grandson (we've been exchanging letters over the last while) and texts from our far-away daughter that brighten my heart.  Some of the grandkids have kept in touch, and friends from church are also reaching out to each other.  How grateful I am for all of that communication.  I'm looking forward to fasting on Sunday with the other church members world wide.  Whether or not our hopes are realized, it'll be good to reconfirm to Heavenly Father our commitment and dedication.  (I just wish I had a crystal ball that would tell me what Heavenly Father's plan really is.  Haha, I know that's not how things work, I just always want that.) I'm so grateful that we have the blessing of electricity and clean water and warmth in our safe home, a great place to be.
