So, when you find a penny pick it up, all day long you'll have good luck - what happens when you find a nickel? That was the fun find on our walk the other morning.
The peonies and the clematis are blooming - they just make me happy - along with all the other flowers that I'm seeing blooming this spring. It's almost as though Heavenly Father is saying, "don't give up, I'm here for you."

I've taken many, many pictures of the tricolor beech. Last year it was so pale and without personality. This year I thought the same thing might happen. I've anxiously watched it every day. And kept track of all the other tricolor beeches I see around, there are more than a few. And it has been just beautiful. Between the hawthorne's superb loveliness and the stunning color on the tricolor beech (my camera can never capture the depth of color!) it has been a good tree year, in spite of the passing of a couple of them.

Went for a visit with a sister I minister to. Ended up being there for 1 1/2 hours. I felt so bad. But it was almost like she didn't want me to leave. I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw how long I had stayed. This dang virus thing has us all unsettled and uneasy and uncomfortable and all mixed up.

Yesterday we bit the bullet and paid to have the windows washed (exterior only). And yes, it's going to rain today. It was more expensive than I had hoped it would be, but truly, it was worth it. The guys worked really hard, finished in a decent amount of time and I'm amazed at how clean the view is. I'm going to have to work this in the budget more often. The Husband does a good job, but we're past the time when I'm comfortable with him hauling that heavy ladder down in the amphitheater, and climbing up that wobbly tall way to wash those really high windows. So glad there's people to do that for us.
And I'm off to fix some chicken salad (yay for Costco rotisserie chicken) on croissants for dinner.
I'm grateful to be home tonight, I'm still leery of going out very much, even if I am pretty sick of fixing meals. I think the days of us just going out for a meal on a whim are long gone and might never return. I'm grateful for clean windows, for blooming flowers and for hope that next week I'll be getting some books from the library. 👏
