Pleased, Annoyed, Treated

Monday morning
So pleased that we're still seeing deer when we're out and about.  The momma deer and her three littles (that are growing fast) are still hanging out in that same field a lot.  One of the neighbors even put out a bin full of water for them.   And the other two deer having a morning lounge on the grass are the same ones we've seen multiple times in that same place.  Too cute.

Wednesday morning
So:  I needed some new prescription sunglasses.  Was determined to get some this year after my eye exam.  A luxury for sure, but one of the few that I'm not willing to give up. Sunglasses were ordered and paid for.  Over two weeks later I went to pick them up - I've been quite nervous about several aspects of them.  But, they're decently cute and the prescription was spot on.  As I wore them around while we did a few errands, I realized they're barely tinted and not polarized (which I paid for).  Stopped back at the office and she said she'd see that it was re-ordered/taken care of.  That was Thursday.  Today I received a call:  the polarization that I requested is "no longer an option" with the kind of bifocal I need.  For crying out loud!!  Instead of reaching out and telling me that and asking what my preference is (remember, I already paid in full out of pocket for these glasses and it was an over-long wait for them to be finished) the lab (it's all on the lab for certain!) just went ahead and made them wrong!!  So now, I've had to run back into the office for a neglected measurement and wait another two weeks for them to re-do them.  When, with only a phone call they could have been done right in the first place.  I simply do not understand that kind of thinking. Seriously.

Love the wild grapes.

But...in the midst of all the eyeglass drama (and why does everything have to have drama?) we received a treat.  A couple of Krispy Kremes.  I love them, especially when they're fresh like these are (well, were - they're gone now).  We generally reserve our purchasing of Krispy Kremes when we're on vacation, which means we rarely get to enjoy them.  Sure, they have locations fairly near us.  We just rarely indulge.  So, what a delightful surprise from a sweetkindgenerous soul.  We thoroughly enjoyed them.

I'm doing my best to be kind.  And tolerant. Sometimes it's a challenge.  But I'm grateful for being able to start fresh - pretty much every minute if I need to.  And I often need to. So grateful for hope that things will improve in so many areas that concern me.  I'll keep drawing on that hope.
