Tuesday's Re-cap

Sunday was our ward's turn at church.  I was once again at the organ - it feels like I'm about as physically distant from everyone else as I can get up there. I'm there before most everyone else and among the very last to leave.  So, yeah, church is fine for this old woman pretending she knows what to do at the organ, especially when the attendance is so low.  The Husband was asked to speak.  It was anniversary day for us.  The anniversary of the date he was baptized a member of our church and the anniversary of our sealing in the temple.  A really nice day all around.
Good Morning, deer.

Saturday we splurged on a meal out.  The sandwich shop we like has an outdoor seating area - covered so it's in the shade.  It's worth an 8 mile drive to get there.  After our sandwich was gone, we drove around the corner to Chick-fil-A for a shake, and took it back to slurp at the same table.  Such a boost to our spirits to get out for a bit.

We're still walking pretty much every morning.  How fun to have The Husband along with me. We have seen such pretty trees and yards.  And oddly enough - lately we've seen deer more and more.  This morning we saw two deer and then a bit later another one (or maybe the same one again in a different spot?). I'm always so surprised at close we get, they don't seem to be bothered by us as long as we aren't aggressive toward them.
Yup, found another penny.
Baby watermelon.

We've been bringing in more tomatoes and cucumbers:  still figuring out how to grow veggies.  The tomatoes aren't quite as great as the last couple years, but we'll take what we can get.  For the very first time ever, it looks (said with fingers crossed and hope in my heart) we've some melons starting.  There are two watermelon and two cantaloupe starting to grow.  It'd be a banner year if we managed to actually grow some to maturity.

Cantaloupe-to-be
We walked around the corner to the neighbors last night.  Today is one of the girls' birthday, turning 9.  All four of the kids came out on the porch - it was so fun to see how excited they were to have company.  (Our visit coincided with another neighbor's birthday delivery.) More than once I couldn't decide which child to listen to, they were all talking at once. And weren't seemingly bothered by their siblings continued conversation around them.  Fun! And the $1.00 I spent for the package of Red Vines we gave her feels like money well-spent.

I'm working on a couple books from the library with still one left before I'm out again.  I do have other books.  I think I've mentioned that I also have a couple thousand books on my Kindle and Nook, so I still have plenty to read. The best part, though, is having a physical book to read from the library.  How grateful I am for our library and those workers who continue to make books available to us.
