I've been noticing tender mercies / beauties / things to be grateful for.
I love that we've a robin's nest in one of our trees again this year. It's too high to see how many eggs were in it, but we've seen the mama robin sitting on it and a broken shell on the ground below. (Oh, we could use a drone for this!)I love all the blooming things right now: our clematis (which we thought was dead-dead-dead), the lily of the valley, the iris, our so-very-pretty tricolor beech, and our spectacular hawthorne, just to mention a few.
I love that we saw a couple families of geese the other day, complete with at least 15 goslings. We stopped counting at 15, they don't stay still very long. Cuteness personified (if I can apply that word to animals). I love that we've been invited to participate in a fast for our neighbor friend who's undergoing some risky surgery this week. He's been discouraged and pretty well incapacitated for quite some time. We'll fast in faith that Heavenly Father will bless him according to his needs and hope for the best outcome. It is worrisome but are grateful that even small things can be helpful.I love that I've tried a couple new recipes with success.
I love that not only am I back in yoga in person, but that we are able to be there face-covering free. It's so much more enjoyable without a mask. And today, I love that I was able to do a side plank - and more than once - we repeated that flow several times. A tad more challenging on my left side - I'm weaker there because of my broken arm those years ago. But so happy that I was able to accomplish something hard. And so glad that I didn't shower before yoga. I definitely needed it after.
I love clean carpet in the bedroom and closet. It took us three days to clean out the closet - this was a great excuse (and we've bags of things to take to Deseret Industries), but so very worth it. We might be able to hold out for another while before having to actually replace the carpet. It cleaned up nicely. And I'm physically tired, too tired to get into another project like that. (And I love that we had some of those furniture sliders to use when moving the nightstands, etc. They made it slick!)
I love that I was able to get an appointment for taking the donations to Deseret Industries. I'd been hearing that they're booked out quite a ways. Tomorrow will be the day for us and it'll feel so good to divest ourselves of no longer used clothing, shoes and other items.
I love the sunshine without too much heat, I love that we're predicted some rain, I love that the closet is clean and streamlined, that we were able to go to the grandson's final lacrosse game (was nice to actually be invited) and that there are leftovers for dinner, making it easy. I love that the latest John Grisham book was worth reading and that I've a couple decent books in the queue. And that we have a couple fun things to look forward to.
