We did a garden survey this morning. Still no sign of the corn or even the carrots, really. But the bush beans (a first for us) and the peas are doing really well. There's such a flurry of activity to get the veggie beds ready and then planted. And then all there is to do is just wait....and wait. Kind of like life - get ready and wait. But so far things are looking reasonably good. Had to show we've a few strawberries already forming. Can hardly wait for some yummies!
Walked into the grocery this morning to be met by my friend-employee Penny. We greeted each other then she proceeded to tell me I didn't need my mask anymore in the store. As of Sunday it will be official for even the employees: if they've been vaccinated they are free to go maskless. Of course, I don't truly enjoy wearing a mask, so I promptly took it off. And just felt strange. All through the store, I imagined other people seeing me without my face mask and mentally berating me. There were other shoppers maskless, but still few in comparison. It felt so good to be maskless in the store while at the same time it just felt all wrong.

| Soon to be edible berries. |
Now, I hope I won't be asking others whether they've been vaccinated or not. Just like I hope they won't be asking me. It really isn't anyone's business. It's a very personal choice and not one that requires conversation. And if someone chooses to post on any social media their decision to be vaccinated, that's fine for them. But people shouldn't be shamed or judged or pressured to acquiesce or even talk about their personal needs. I still respect privacy and personal choice. I hope my behavior reflects that.

| Prettiest tree on the block! |
And I've taken quite a few pictures of our hawthorne. It is just a stunning display this year and so pretty when you're driving down our street. I love this tree. (Not so fond of the berries we didn't know it had when we planted, but I'll suffer through them for the spring beauty.)
Grateful today for being able to find the final yard tool for The Husband. He'll have nothing to open now on his Father's Day or birthday. But he says he doesn't mind. He's enjoying the new equipment for our yard.
