Sunshine

The roof is progressing.  So grateful today for some sunshine.  All the work the guys did yesterday clearing off the snow had to be re-done today (we had more snow in the overnight hours).  So far, the front half of the house has been de-shingled.  The bare parts have the underlayment and some weatherproofing (at least that's what I'll call it) applied. They're working hard to make the most of the clear skies, though the wind has picked up.

I keep focus on keeping us both calm.  It is a tad nerve wracking.  We had thought we might still be able to get around the dumpster to park in the garages.  Ha.  The driveway is definitely showing the work in progress.  No way are any of our tires going to touch that pavement until the project is done and everything cleaned up.

And I've been wrestling lately with so many emotions.  Came across this little quote that I took from February's Liahona - here's a link to the full article.  Obedience / Joy  But this little bit leaped off the page at me.

I like the emphasis on choice and awareness of divinity in our lives.

The Lord intends that we “might have joy” (see 2 Nephi 2:25). But the word “might” implies that our joy depends on our agency. If we want true, everlasting joy, we choose to see blessings in whatever form and time they come. We choose to remain obedient, even when it doesn’t yield immediate results, because we love and trust Heavenly Father. And we work to understand that the richest blessings are in the lessons we choose to learn from our trials, for those are what draw us closer to Christ.

Whenever a blessing is not granted in the manner or timing we expect, we have the opportunity to carefully evaluate the ways we have seen Heavenly Father and our Savior show up in our lives, because They always do. When we truly understand this truth, we will have the perspective and courage to humbly proclaim, “Thy will be done.”

So grateful today for a break in the weather to get some solid work done on the roof.  It's scary to spend this much money and have so much of our house exposed to the elements.
