New Friend and Stormy Day

Hi, Friend.
We knew it was going to rain.  Were hoping we'd manage a walk before the drops came.  So happy we were able to.  We often walk past this one field - a couple years ago we watched them load the bales of whatever it was they grew.  So fun.  The two horses are pretty much confined to the southern half of the field.  Today they were out in the northern part, eating their fill of the grasses.  The moment I headed over to the fence to chat with this one, he was heading right toward me, nuzzling the front of my jacket, looking for a snack, a treat or maybe just some love.  I had to wait to take this picture when he had backed off a bit.  He wasted no time chewing the long grasses we pulled and held out for him.  A new friend.
Yum!

It's been blustery today.  Windy.  Cold.  Rainy.  Just the right kind of day to try out a new-to-me hot chocolate recipe.  Italian hot chocolate.  So rich I almost couldn't finish my cup.  Yummy.  Wonderful.  I think The Husband liked it also.  There was pretty much silence in the kitchen, well, except for the slurping.

And just the right kind of day (now that the ironing is finished, the chores are done and the mail sorted through) to sit in my comfy chair next to the window and read a book.  Haven't done that in quite a while.
